OMG!

Wow!

It's been more than a year since I've posted onto "their" blog. A lot of things have happened. We added onto our pack! Duke, a handsome GSD, joined our family back in October and things have just been crazy! He's so smart, yet a little trouble maker. He talks your ears off AND can get a little sneaky with the paper towels.

It's almost fall, and you know what that means, winter is right around the corner! My absolute favorite seasons. More so now that the dogs can play dress up. Speaking of dress up, we also added a toy poodle, Hachi, to our pack. Now, he's just a "semi" pack member as he is my mom's dog. But because we live with her, and because Hachi loves running wild with the big dogs, we have no choice but to accept him into our pack! We've already had emergency vet visits with both Duke and Hachi because Peaches was putting them in their place!

I'll try to blog again. I want to capture and remember each moment with my pets. I wish they could live forever.

Poor Taruh!

Taruh was spayed today, and just looking at her makes me feel so sad! I felt so bad for her this morning, knowing what was behind the glass doors and what waiting for her. I'm happy I did it; I for sure didn't want to contribute to more crowding in the shelters, and I know it has its health benefits. But she's my lil one, and I didn't want her to get hurt in any way!

The BF and I got the procedure done at the ACT Spay & Neuter clinic (www.acatteam.org). It's a low cost clinic, and focuses mainly on spay & neuter surgeries. And if you have a pitbull or a chihuahua, it's even lower priced! So if you live in Nor. CAL, and you really can't afford the vet's prices, go ahead and check this clinic out!

Boy am I in BIIIIIIIIIG trouble.
Mama found out I was going through the bathroom garbage. Last time I went through the garbage, I was only a few months old. I scared mama that time. She came home and couldn't find me anywhere! I thought I was gonna get away with it cuz I was as quiet as a mouse. Then she looked in her bathroom, and surprise! There I was, surrounded by garbage.

But this time is different. I'm much older now (a year older that is,) and I should've known the rules. The garbage was calling my nose! Well, my nose was smelling the garbage, what's a dog to do?

PIT BOSS!

It's amazing what people sacrifice just to give this breed a good name. In my opinion, the media profiles pitbulls in a horrible fashion, making people think twice about adopting them into their homes. You have to remember it's not the dog's fault, but the owner's and the environment they live in. Any breed can be aggressive, but it's up to the owner to get that dog trained. Some of the smaller breeds are sooooo mean and sassy, they make bigger dogs look like teddy bears. But are they being reported? Uh, no. In fact, Cocker Spaniels have been reported to have bite issues, but are far more adoptable than pitbulls, rottweilers and/or dobermans.

We need to educate the community that all stereotyped breeds are not what they claim to be. My neighbor has 3 pitbulls and a lab. They are THE sweetest dogs ever, and my two dogs love having them as neighbors.

So please, do your research and separate fact from fiction. You could save a dog's life by doing so.

Rain, rain go away

It's raining and I had to bring the brat pack in before they got muddy to the point of no return. I'm reading DOG FANCY and they had an article about taking pictures of your dogs. I'm no photographer, but why not? It's raining, and it'll give me a good opportunity to chase them around to get some good 'ol candid shots. So far, they have done nothing but sleep. Go figure.

Heard from the Master!

FINALLY heard from the Alpha dog (aka my BF.) He's been working from 4 PM to 8 AM, and he doesn't know if he can make it all the way through. A part of me hopes he comes back after 30 days, another part of me wants him to stay all the way through. It's only the first week of work, so only time will tell.

Now for some doggie product reviews!

Let's face it- dogs stink. And just like people, a dog's body chemistry/smell MAY not mix well with certain scents. For my dogs, the ONLY deodorizing spray that works is 4K9 Organic Dog Deodorizing Dog Spray in Lavender & Citronella. I found it at TJ MAXX a while ago when the formula was purple, and came in a BIGGER bottle (about 540 mls) with a trigger spray. BF and I loved it. It truly neutralized their "doggy" B.O. and it had natural insect repellent which was a plus for us. After we ran out, I went back to TJ MAXX, but knowing how those stores work, it could've been a once in a while product. Well, today I felt like looking, and ALAS I found it. This time however, it was in a gift pack, and the bottle was smaller with a mist spray, and the formula was almost clear. It was $4.99, now it's $9.99, but it also came with shampoo and conditioner. Guess I can't complain, but I truly wished it came in a bigger bottle.

When you spray , spray it liberally over your dog. It kinda has that "house cleaning-almost-pine sol smell" but TRUST ME, it works! It's kinda like vinegar. Vinegar stinks, but it sure takes out urine smells...old and new! Don't get thrown off because it smells like something you'd mop your floor with, it's just the citronella doing it's repelling magic.

We tried using Pet Head Poof! Magical Deodorizing Spray for Dogs, but it just didn't mesh well with our dogs. It smells good don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't work for our dogs. The packaging is cute, and for the price we got it (@ Marshall's for $9.99) it wasn't bad. I still use it time to time, but only AFTER I spray the 4K9.

Like I said, it truly depends on your dog. I'm so glad we didn't have to go through brands to find the right one!






Aww, my dogs are snoring. Guess that means I need to KO too. Bye!

I actually woke up before they attacked me with their tongues. Once they saw both my eyes open, I got tackled and was severely licked. Yuck.
